I have been uning satalight for several years. I also couldnt see a home security system tied into something as poor as a typical Asynchronous transfur mode line, better knowned as an ATM. I'm really surprised they havent done it sooner.

I for one have NOT had a typical land line in over 10 yrs. I sure it doesn't include t1's, t3's, isdn, and such. Should have just called them when I started as it would have saved me a few hours.Ĭlick to expand.yea, it was more of typical home owner land lines. Getting it set up was a bit of a head-scratcher but once I called onsip they walked me through it. You can also pick up some used ones on ebay but I didn't see much savings so I just bought new ones. $100 for basic desk phones, $250 for a better HD phone for use in a meeting room. Phones are polycom voip that we bought from or for between $100-$250 each. We pay another $25-$75/month for onsip's service which includes a $20 menu/routing (if you know your parties extension, please dial it now or stay on the line for further assistance). $70/month for that which we needed anyway. Our internet connection is the basic business-class cable modem from our local cable service. We researched this a lot a year ago when moving into a new office and liked onsip's pay for what you use pricing. When I go on vacation or don't want to be bothered, I take my cell out of the routing so it just rings the office/goes to voicemail which I can get via email. ring my office first, then my cell, then send it to voicemail. It's a pay for what you use service so you're not paying $x-per line. We use which is a hosted PBX so the only hardware we had to buy is the phones. If you have a decent internet connection you can switch to VOIP (voice-over-internet-protocol) service and save some serious money.
